North Metro Fire Rescue District is looking for a skilled and driven Public Information Officer (PIO) to lead our communications, social media and community outreach efforts. The PIO serves as a key member of the North Metro Fire’s executive team and will play an essential role in upholding the fire district’s reputation, enhancing organizational transparency and fostering strong relationships with the public, media, and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities: *Crisis Communications & Incident Response: Serve as the district’s spokesperson, responding to emergency scenes, coordinating with other agencies, handling media inquiries, and sharing information across multiple channels.

*Media & Public Relations: Build strong relationships with local media, and pitch stories that elevate the district’s reputation and enhance public safety.

*Community Engagement & Outreach: Develop engaging and accessible content for North Metro Fire's social media channels and website. Plus, plan and oversee community events, partnerships and safety education initiatives.

*Internal Communications: Keep employees and board of directors informed and engaged through internal messaging, presentations and digital content.

*Brand & Digital Management: Oversee the district’s brand and editorial style for all external content, and produce and manage the district’s digital assets, including photography, video and graphic design.

*Strategic Leadership: Guide the district’s long-term communication strategy, manage budgets, and oversee a dedicated outreach team.
