The person in this position will work with the state team of program officers to support the communication needs of local partnerships including help with websites and local media presence, and design and development of local partnerships’ online and printed materials. Build the overall communications capacity of the organization, including both internal and external communications, and that of its partnerships through the development of communications plans and strategies, development of mailing lists, training staff and partners, integration of collaborative technologies, etc. Assist with the development and distribution of all print collateral including reports, newsletters, brochures, posters, post cards and mailers, as well as the collection and development of high-quality photographs, videos, and written stories of local partnerships’ clients, programs, and initiatives. Support fundraising and development efforts within the organization and local partnerships to include the development of private resources, in-kind donations, and volunteer engagement. Contribute to website maintenance and the generation of online content, including website and social media, that engages a large audience with the SC First Steps mission and leads to measurable action. Track and measure the level of engagement with web and social media channels over time; use data to identify strategies for optimizing online reach and engagement. Assist the organization and its local partnerships in planning and executing community events to engage supporters and ensure that First Steps is well represented. Speak on behalf of SC First Steps and coordinate the appearances of other SC First Steps team members, partners, supporters, and clients to speak. Coordinate appreciation activities for partners and supporters. Support efforts to ensure that the SC First Steps communications team works collaboratively, aligning resources, strategy, and focus across teams to advance common goals.
