WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
As an Information Officer 2 with the Department of Public Safety (DPS), you will be assisting the Public Information Office by producing professionally written documents, features, stories, presentations, graphics, and photographs of pertinent DPS activities. You will share the responsibility of establishing and maintaining positive relations with news media and the public for the department. You will also respond to information requests from news media daily.

THE WORKING CONDITIONS YOU CAN EXPECT:
This position is located and based out of the Department of Pubic Safety's Headquarters at 5700 E Tudor Road in Anchorage, Alaska. The work environment is friendly, team-oriented and productive.
WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR:
The ability to work independently with minimal supervision while remaining self-motivated and on task.
Experience and strong understanding of various social media outlets such as Facebook.
Strong written, verbal, and detail-oriented communication skills with the ability to communicate complex information.
Strong research skills and creative ability for idea implantation. Experience in Adobe InDesign is a plus.
Ability to adapt to changing priorities while managing multiple stories, research projects, interviews, and abrupt incoming features.
