Enhancing Government Messaging and Citizen Experience with AI-enhanced Content.
Without giving too much away about your session, what do you hope to cover that is of benefit to attendees of the NAGC comms school?
Leveraging motivational AI to create, optimize messaging cotent and gain audience insights at-scale to improve CX and agency mission outcomes.
Tell us a little about what you do and how you got there
After a 30+ year career at Verizon (10+ years leading their government program), I moved to Persado to bring their innovative AI-enhanced messaging platform into the government segment.
What do you love about your job?
Helping dedicated government professionals improve citizen experience and deliver on their mission commitment.
What’s the hardest thing about your job?
Establishing a category within government procurement for our new technology offering.
What are some of the more memorable events you’ve had to deal with in your role and what lessons did you learn?
Building my team; creating trusted-relationships with new stakeholders (that I've only met remotely); enabling our platform for government agencies and seeing the great outcomes and ROI.
What is it about communications, media or crisis comms that interests you so much?
The direct correlation of communications with citizen trust, experience and engagement.
Can you give some advice to those who want to start a career in Government communications?
Be passionate about your agency's mission and understand the definition(s) of success.
What are your favorite tools you use to do your job more effectively?
Smartphone, laptop, Zoom and LinkedIn.
Are there any books, podcasts or any other resources you would recommend for the comms pro?
What would you say to anyone in a leadership role about having a PIO who might not have one?
Must-have for effective connectivity to the citizens/residents/constituents that you serve.
Is there anything else you would like to tell us about, recommend or promote?
Allow new technology to be an added tool to help you innovate and elevate your work outcomes.
